Specialised First Aid Course FAQs

First Aid Coach offers a range of specialised courses for people who need targeted workplace or industry-specific training. These include asthma and anaphylaxis training, low voltage rescue, ESI first aid, pocket mask training, fire warden training, chief warden training and fire extinguisher training.

Specialised courses are best suited to workers, employers and volunteers who need training beyond standard first aid and CPR. This may include childcare staff, electrical workers, safety officers, workplace wardens, NSW Police applicants, people working in higher-risk environments, or businesses that need staff trained for specific compliance requirements.

Many specialised courses include nationally recognised units of competency or accredited course codes, depending on the course selected. Training and assessment is delivered on behalf of Allens Training Pty Ltd RTO 90909, with certificates issued after successful completion where applicable.

Yes, most specialised courses listed by First Aid Coach are delivered face to face and can be completed in a short session. Some courses run for around 30 minutes, 90 minutes, 1 hour or 3 hours, depending on the subject. Same day certificates are available for eligible courses after successful completion.

Specialised courses are available across First Aid Coach training locations, including Liverpool, Alexandria, Bankstown and Blacktown. Availability may vary by course, so it is best to check the current course schedule before booking.

Yes, group bookings are available for several specialised courses. This is a good option for workplaces that need to train multiple staff at once, such as childcare centres, electrical businesses, construction teams, offices, schools and community organisations.

The asthma and anaphylaxis course is designed for people who may need to recognise and respond to breathing emergencies, asthma attacks or severe allergic reactions. It is especially relevant for childcare, education, sport, community care and workplace settings where quick action may be required.

Low voltage rescue training teaches participants how to respond to an emergency involving a live low voltage electrical panel. It is commonly required for electrical workers and people who may need to perform a rescue in an electrical environment. Some low voltage rescue courses also include CPR training.

ESI first aid training is designed for people working in the electricity supply industry or related environments. It focuses on first aid skills that may be needed when responding to incidents in electrical or high-risk work settings.

Pocket mask training teaches participants how to use a pocket mask safely and effectively during CPR. This course is often relevant for people who need to meet specific workplace, industry or application requirements, including NSW Police Force applicants.

Fire warden training focuses on helping staff understand their role during a workplace emergency, including evacuation procedures and basic emergency response. Chief warden training is more advanced and focuses on leading the emergency control organisation, coordinating wardens and managing the overall response during an incident.

Fire warden training and fire extinguisher training cover different skills. Fire warden training focuses on emergency procedures, evacuation and workplace response, while fire extinguisher training provides hands-on instruction in how to select and use extinguishers safely. Some workplaces choose to complete both for stronger emergency preparedness.

The right course depends on your workplace, role and compliance requirements. Electrical workers may need low voltage rescue or ESI first aid, childcare staff may need asthma and anaphylaxis training, and businesses may need fire warden or extinguisher training for workplace safety. If you are unsure, contact First Aid Coach before booking.

Yes, employers can book specialised training for staff who need specific first aid, fire safety or workplace emergency skills. Group training can help businesses keep teams compliant, confident and prepared for emergencies relevant to their workplace.

You can book through the First Aid Coach course schedule or contact the team directly for help choosing the right course. If you are booking for a workplace group, you can also enquire about group training options.
